Great day out for the kids!!
I had a fantastic time at the Watford Atria Hollywood Bowl last night. Great service from all of the employees and the food was delicious! Will definitely be returning, kids loved it!!

Please don’t book any kids party with…
Please don’t book any kids party with them. So I booked my party VIP and it went horribly wrong. Being treated like we were to blame for the lanes going wrong and then moved to a non vip lane, parents of the children attended horrified saying they would make a complaint. Should have known it was going to be bad experience when i requested to pick invitations and told I could pick up to be then told not in stock and would arrive the next day, still waiting for these even though the party was today. Party host shocking, clueless. I have never felt so embarrassed, never again.

Miya Was absolutely amazing it's nice to have a giggle with all staff but she was amazing with helping with the fault on the lane and bringing drinks she is so polite and helpful good night out had by all x

Avoid, avoid, avoid
Absolutely shocking money grabbing company. Needs shut down. No customer service what so ever. Complaints don't withstand. Error their end and still no refund. Customer service email and calls backs a joke. Just requesting a charge back from bank now.

No refund policy.
I received a promotional email, offering a 50 percent discount. I booked two games for four children which was meant to cost around £18. On the website it said discount code accepted and discount will show if valid as I received this the same day via an email I assumed there would be no issue.

The email read it only applies to bookings from 5pm Friday to close on Sunday. I selected 4:30 instead of 5:30 by mistake so called them straight away.

I was then told by one advisor I’d receive a refund but had to email the customer service email that’s they keep spamming to all negative comments in here.

With my name, screenshot of email order number and last four digits of bank card.

I was informed I’ll receive a callback and a confirmation refund email.

I called back later as I hadn’t heard anything to speak to another advisor. I went on to explain but they where not interested in support or helping he said him and his manager will listen to the previous call and then make a discussion that evening or following day. Bare in mind I’d booked for the following day. I told him this is unreasonable as I’ll be waiting on them to make a decision before I can tell my kids weather we can actually attend or not.

I never got the callback. And I’m still awaiting an outcome. I know I’ll get the Dan message of send an email but since I already have and it’s still failed. I’m not banking on a sensible outcome. I’m willing to take this to trading standards, as they have not allowed a fair amount of time for this matter to be resolved.

Horrible service
If i could i would give this no stars. A lady shut down my game right near the end we only was given one warning and there was no rules to say i couldnt throw two balls at a time. I didnt break anything i didnt disturb anyone i just was having fun and she just rudely came and told us she was shutting us down. Im not very happy and when i went to calmly speak to the lady at the desk she was very rude to me

The toilets were so unhygienic as well. They smelt like poo. Half of them had no loo roll and a couple of the toilets have wee and poo in the toilet and one was blocked. It was absolutely disgusting and i was not happy

Only ordered £1 something worth of…
Only ordered £1 something worth of fries but it took half an hour and chasing to finally get it. And when we did finally get it, it was basically just 10 fries. The amount was so little i could see the bottom of the box.

A scam of a company…
Omg an absolute exploiting company after head office calling me as after watching loads of kids and families including mine being exploited with the grab machine in Coatbridge I was told by a member of staff these machines are only there to con the xustomer as its mechanically set up only to drop one toy every couple of hundred shots they said they would look into it but I've had the same complaint for years as have others im contacting the FCA as advised by cab

Premium rate phone charge scam
I recently made a couple of phone calls to the Hollywood Bowl at Watford Woodside using the phone number as advertised on their website 0844 826 1473.
Upon receiving my phone bill, I was shocked to see that for 2 calls of approx 15 mins each (most of which was on hold), I had been charged over £20.
This is outrageous, on the website it needs acknowledge the use of premium rate lines as it is very misleading to just say 'call charges apply', every call has a charge. I feel completely 'ripped off' that the cost of a call is more than the cost of the bowling.
Do not use.

Very, very expensive
Enquired at Bury Hollywood Bowl how I get on the mailing list for discounts.
I had to book a game.
I did. £3.75! And that is pensioners rates.
Pre Covid you were able to book games with 50% discounts, which I used to entertain my two grandchildren and three adults.
Now that Covid restrictions are over, no such discounts are available.
The best is 25% if you bowl before 11.00am!
The bowling alley is almost deserted before 4.30pm.
The pricing model is excessive and deters many of us.
I pointed this out to the manager some 5 years ago, and he advised me that it was cheaper for pensioners.
Unless you bring the Pre Covid discounts back I and my family will not be returning.

Wouldn’t refund our game.
Booked a family of 4 game of bowling for two games, only ended up playing one and so they wouldn’t give us our money back for the second game,
They gave us a voucher to spend instead which we wasn’t happy about in the first place, as we only asked back for what we payed for the game.
We returned on five seperate occasions to use our vouchers and every time was told they couldn’t fit us in, as it was too busy, then on our last return was told we could do it online next time.
I’ve just tried to book but now out vouchers have expired because instead of updating our vouchers every time they turned us down they didn’t do anything to help.

It’s almost like it was deliberate that they wouldn’t accept the vouchers and now we have paid for something we haven’t used.

Absolutely disgusting service.

This was at the Basildon and Lakeside venues.

I booked a party of 23 children for my daughters 8th birthday party. We was told to arrive for 11:45 to start bowling for 12. At 12pm the names hadn’t been entered into the system to start bowling. 12:10pm we managed to start bowling but was told we only had 2 lanes with 23 children which is impossible/ridiculous! We was then given 4 lanes.

The children all managed to bowl and we seated the children ready for food at 1:15pm.
At 1:45pm there was still no food, at this point parents are coming to collect their children as we were meant to finishing bowling at 1pm.

1:50pm the food started coming out, and it was all burnt. Not acceptable for a child to eat.
They agreed to re-cook, 2pm no food.
The food started to come out in drips and drabs.
Some children had finished before some children even got their food & probably even got home!
We spoke to the a colleague who thought it was rather funny and he was quite smug, we then asked to speak to the manager.

The manager explained there was only 1 staff remember trained to the kitchen; which is absolutely ridiculous when they had 5 members of staff stood behind the reception drinking coke and hugging & 2 birthday parties. How can you run 2 birthday parties and general public’s food off 1 kitchen staff member. The manager went on to offer me a refund of £58. By the time the last 2 children got their food there was 6 children left. Which means my daughter missed out on her cake & people singing to her. This is definitely not the kitchen members fault, I actually feel rather sorry for him to be put under that sort of pressure!! Instead of staff members standing around talking, drinking and hugging. Train them up it takes 40 minutes for a level 2 hygiene (which I know myself)

I spoke to the member of staff in the kitchen and he said they’d books 2 parties at the same time which is ridiculous and wasn’t able to manage it all but because we finished after the other party we had to wait for him to feed 24 children from another party even though we had pre ordered, paid etc…

£58 for a 8 year old who missed out on the whole birthday party experience of cake & singing is ridiculous when I paid nearly £300!

There was signs on the table ‘best party ever’ I removed these as it was rather embrassing & definitely not the ‘best party ever’ All the parents couldn’t believe how disgusting the service, how it was run & customer service was. I would never recommended anyone to Hollywood bowl for a party.

The staff I dealt with personally looked like they couldn’t care, which is absolutely fine but not when it’s my daughter party!!! I have taken this further with customer services, it is the weekend which means offices are closed but I’ve sent an email and will be calling first thing Monday. Been told the £58 is all they’ll refund which is an absolute joke for what we had to deal with. Do not book

Would like to avoid any parent and child feeling how myself and my daughter feel.
